La Crosse Train Station, located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. The train station was originally built in 1926 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad, but was also used by the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad.[3] The station was renovated in 1997 and today is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Wisconsin as the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway Depot, as well as the Milwaukee Road Passenger Depot.
La Crosse is served by Amtrak's daily Empire Builder. Of the eight Wisconsin stations served by Amtrak, La Crosse was the fourth busiest in FY10, boarding or detraining an average of about 85 passengers daily.[4]
